How to update issues in Jira for updated Airtable records
Set the Airtable trigger as "Record changed"
Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and initiates your playbook's actions.
Click "Add trigger" and select "Record changed" under Airtable automation. Then, select the table. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect record changes in Airtable and initiate necessary actions.
If this is your first time using an Airtable integration in the Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.
Add the "Get issue" & "Update issue" in Jira automation
Integrate the Jira automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt update of the corresponding issue for each record changed in Airtable.
Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Get issue" and "Update issue" automation for Jira and input the mandatory and relevant details.
If your Jira account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Jira account.
Activate your Relay.app playbook
Activating your playbook is the final step to automate updating the issue in Jira. Once turned on, it will respond to record changes in Airtable by updating the corresponding Jira issues without manual intervention.
To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
