How to send email notifications in Gmail for new files added to a specific Google Drive folder
Add the Google Drive "File added to folder" trigger
Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.
Click "Add trigger" and select "File added to folder" under Google Drive. Then, select the parent folder where files are added. This trigger will automatically detect all the new file added to a specific folder in Google Drive to send email in Gmail as a notification.
If this is your first time using a Google Drive integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Google Drive account.
Add the Gmail "Send email" automation
Integrate the Gmail automation into your playbook to ensure prompt email notifications for new files added in a specific folder in Google Drive. Add a new step and select "Send email" from the list of Gmail automations.
Connect Gmail to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the mandatory and relevant details. You can reference fields from Google Drive to automatically pass along the right data.
Turn on the playbook
Activating your playbook is the final step. Once turned on, it will respond to a new file added to the selected folder in Google Drive by sending an email notification via Gmail without manual intervention.
To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
