How to automate scheduling new Google Calendar events from new Google Form responses

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Google Forms, Google Calendar, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “create event” action in Google Calendar for each form response submitted in Google Forms using Relay.app.

1

Create your playbook and set the Google Forms trigger as "Form response submitted"

After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

To set up this playbook, click "Add trigger" and then select "Form response submitted" under Google Forms. Then, select the form. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect the newly received response in Google Forms and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Google Forms integration in Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.

2

Add the "Create event" in Google Calendar automation

Integrate the Google Calendar automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of a new event in Google Calendar whenever a response is submitted in a specific form in Google Forms.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Create event" automation for Google Calendar and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Google Calendar account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Google Calendar account.

3

Activate your Relay.app playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the creation of a new event in Google Calendar. Once turned on, it will respond to each new response submitted in Google Forms by scheduling a new event in Google Calendar without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
