How to automatically add a record to Airtable database every time a submission is received in Jotform

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Jotform, Airtable, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “add record to table” action in Airtable for each form submission received in Jotform using Relay.app.

1

Set the Jotform trigger as “Form submission received”

A playbook always starts with a trigger, which is responsible for detecting changes in your connected applications and responding accordingly.

Add the Jotform trigger to initiate your playbook's actions every time a submission is received. Click "Add trigger" in your playbook and choose "Form submission received" from the dropdown menu under Jotform.

If you still need to connect your Jotform account to Relay.app yet, a prompt will guide you through the process.

2

Add the “Add record to table” step in Airtable

Integrate Airtable automation into your workflow to automatically add a record to an Airtable database every time a submission is received in Jotform.

Click the "Add step" button, locate the "Add record to table" automation for Airtable, and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Airtable account still needs to be connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Airtable account.

3

Activate your playbook

Activating the playbook is the last step in the process. Once you turn it on, it automatically adds a record to an Airtable database every time a submission is received in Jotform without manual intervention.

To activate your playbook, click the toggle button at the header. Before activating, we recommend performing a test run of your playbook to ensure all the steps work seamlessly together.
