Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Retable, SmartSuite, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “add row to table” action in Retable for each comment added in SmartSuite using Relay.app.

Add the SmartSuite trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Comment added" under SmartSuite. Then, select the table. If this is your first time using a SmartSuite integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your SmartSuite account.

Your playbook will run automatically when a comment is added to SmartSuite.

Add the Retable "Add row" automation

Now, you can add a new row in Retable. Add a further step and select "Add row" from the list of Retable automations.

Connect Retable to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the details like the table and values. You can reference fields from SmartSuite to pass along the correct data automatically.

Turn on the playbook

When you are done with the playbook, it's time to turn it on.

The playbook will now run automatically whenever a Comment isa comment is added to SmartSuite. You can also click "Check now" to manually check whenever you'd like.
