How to automatically add Front message sender details to a Coda table

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Front, Coda, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “add row” action in Coda for each message received in Front using Relay.app.

1

Create your playbook and set the Front trigger as "Message received"

After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Message received" under Front. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect every received message in Front and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Front integration in Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.

2

Add the "Add row" in Coda automation

Integrate the Coda automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt addition of a new row in Coda whenever a new message is received in Front.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Add row" automation for Coda and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Coda account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Coda account.

3

Activate your Relay.app playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the addition of a new row in Coda. Once turned on, it will respond to each new message received in Front by adding a new row in Coda without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
