How to automatically copy a document in Coda every time a form is submitted in Jotform

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Jotform, Coda, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “copy doc” action in Coda for each form submission received in Jotform using Relay.app.

1

Set the Jotform trigger as “Form submission received”

A playbook always starts with a trigger, which is responsible for detecting changes in your connected applications and responding accordingly.

Add the Jotform trigger to initiate your playbook's actions every time a form is submitted. Click "Add trigger" in your playbook and choose "Form submission received" from the dropdown menu under Jotform.

If you still need to connect your Jotform account to Relay.app yet, a prompt will guide you through the process.

2

Add the “Copy doc” step in Coda

Integrate Coda automation into your playbook to automatically copy a document in Coda every time a form is submitted in Jotform.

Click the "Add step" button, locate the “Copy doc” automation for Coda, and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Coda account still needs to be connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Coda account.

3

Activate your playbook

Activating the playbook is the last step in the process. Once you turn it on, it will automatically copy a document in Coda every time a form is submitted in Jotform without requiring manual intervention.

To activate your playbook, click the toggle button at the header. Before activating, we recommend performing a test run of your playbook to ensure all the steps work seamlessly together.
