How to automatically create or update a row in Retable every time there's a new form submission in Tally

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Retable, Tally, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “create or update row” action in Retable for each new form submission in Tally using Relay.app.

Set the Tally trigger as “New form submission”

A playbook always starts with a trigger, which is responsible for detecting changes in your connected applications and responding accordingly.

Add the Tally trigger to initiate your playbook's actions every time there's a new form submission. Click "Add trigger" in your playbook and choose "New form submission" from the dropdown menu under Tally.

If you still need to connect your Tally account to Relay.app yet, a prompt will guide you through the process.

2

Add the “Create or update row” step in Retable

Integrate Retable automation into your workflow to automatically create or update a row in Retable every time there's a new form submission in Tally.

Click the "Add step" button, locate the "Create or update row" automation for Retable, and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Retable account still needs to be connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Retable account.

3

Activate your playbook

Activating the playbook is the last step in the process. Once you turn it on, it will automatically create or update a row in Retable every time there's a new form submission in Tally without requiring manual intervention.

To activate your playbook, click the toggle button at the header. Before activating, we recommend performing a test run of your playbook to ensure all the steps work seamlessly together.
