How to automatically notify a Slack channel every time a row changes in Retable

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Slack, Retable, and many other apps.

Set the Retable trigger as “Row changed”

A playbook always starts with a trigger, which is responsible for detecting changes in your connected applications and responding accordingly.

Add the Retable trigger to initiate your playbook's actions every time a row changes. Click "Add trigger" in your playbook and choose "Row changed" from the dropdown menu under Retable.

If you still need to connect your Retable account to Relay.app yet, a prompt will guide you through the process.

2

Add the “Send to channel as Bot” step in Slack

Integrate the Slack automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt notification to a Slack channel as a bot every time a row changes in Retable.

Click the "Add step" button, locate the “Send to channel as Bot” automation for Slack, and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Slack account still needs to be connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Slack account.

3

Activate your playbook

Activating your playbook is the last step in the process. Once you turn it on, it will automatically notify a Slack channel as a bot every time a row changes in Retable without requiring manual intervention.

To activate your playbook, click the toggle button at the header. Before activating, we recommend performing a test run of your playbook to ensure all the steps work seamlessly together.
