How to automatically update Apollo contacts every time a new subscription is created in Chargebee

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Apollo, Chargebee, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “update contact” action in Apollo for each subscription created in Chargebee using Relay.app.

1

Set the Chargebee trigger as “Subscription created”

A playbook always starts with a trigger, which is responsible for detecting changes in your connected applications and responding accordingly.

Add the Chargebee trigger to initiate your playbook's actions when subscriptions are created. Click "Add trigger" in your playbook and choose "Subscription created" from the dropdown menu under Chargebee.

If you still need to connect your Chargebee account to Relay.app yet, a prompt will guide you through the process.

2

Add the "Get contact" and "Update contact" step in Apollo

Integrate the Apollo automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt update of Apollo contacts every time a new subscription is created in Chargebee.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Get contact" and "Update contact" automation for Apollo and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Apollo account still needs to be connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Apollo account.

3

Activate your playbook

Activating your playbook is the last step in the process. Once you turn it on, it will automatically update Apollo contacts every time a new subscription is created in Chargebee without requiring manual intervention.

To activate your playbook, click the toggle button at the header. Before activating, we recommend performing a test run of your playbook to ensure all the steps work seamlessly together.
