How to create new rows in a Coda table for completed Asana tasks

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Asana, Coda, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “add row” action in Coda for each task completed in Asana using Relay.app.

Add the Asana trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. This trigger will automatically detect any completed task in Asana that will instantly create a corresponding row in Coda.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Task completed" under Asana. Then, select the project. If this is your first time using a Asana integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Asana account.

Now, every time a task is completed in Asana, your playbook will run automatically.

2

Add the Coda "Add row to table" automation

Now all the completed tasks in the Swag Orders project in Asana will be added to a new row in your Coda table. Add a new step and select "Add row to table" from the list of Coda automations.

Connect Coda to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the necessary details. You can reference fields from Asana to automatically pass along the right data.

3

Turn on the playbook

When you are done with the playbook, it's time to turn it on.

The playbook will now run automatically whenever a task is completed in Asana. You can also click "Check now" to do a manual check whenever you'd like.
