How to directly generate a new document in Documint from a Coda table

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Coda, Documint, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “create document” action in Documint for each row added in Coda using Relay.app.

1

Create your playbook and set the Coda trigger as "Row added"

After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.

To set up this playbook, click "Add trigger" and then select "Row added" under Coda. Then, select the table. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect the newly added row in Coda and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Coda integration in Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.

2

Add the "Create document" in Documint automation

Integrate the Documint automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of a new document for each new row added in Coda.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Create document" automation for Documint and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Documint account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Documint account.

3

Activate your Relay.app playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the creation of a new document for each new record added. Once turned on, it will respond whenever a new row is added in Coda by creating a new document in Documint without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
