How to track new Retable rows by creating Linear issues

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Linear, Retable, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “create issue” action in Linear for each row added in Retable using Relay.app.

1

Add the Retable trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Row added" under Retable. Then, select the relevant table. If this is your first time using a Retable integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Retable account.

Every time a new row is added in Retable, your playbook will run automatically.

2

Add the Linear "Create issue" automation

Now, you can create a new issue in Linear for the relevant project. Add a further step and select "Create issue" from the list of Linear automations.

Connect Linear to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the details like the team, issue title, description, assignee, priority, status, labels, and project. You can reference fields from Retable to pass along the correct data automatically.

3

Turn on the playbook

When you are done with the playbook, it's time to turn it on.

The playbook will run automatically whenever a new row is added in Retable. You can also click "Check now" to manually check whenever you'd like.
