How to update a specific record in Airtable when an event is scheduled in Google Calendar
Create your playbook and set the Google Calendar trigger as "Event scheduled"
After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.
To set up this playbook, click "Add trigger" and then select "Event scheduled" under Google Calendar. Then, select the necessary details. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect the newly scheduled event in Google Calendar and initiate necessary actions.
If this is your first time using a Google Calendar integration in Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.
Add the "Find record(s)" & "Update record" in Airtable automation
Integrate the Airtable automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt update of the specific record whenever a new event is scheduled in Google Calendar.
Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Find record(s)" to identify which record needs to be updated. Then, select "Update record" automation for Airtable and input the mandatory and relevant details.
If your Airtable account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Airtable account.
Activate your Relay.app playbook
Activating your playbook is the final step to automate updating the specific record in Airtable. Once turned on, it will respond whenever an event is scheduled in Google Calendar by updating the corresponding record in Airtable without manual intervention.
To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
