How to create email response with OpenAI ChatGPT for new Gmail emails and save as a draft

After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.

To set up this playbook, click "Add trigger" and then select "Email received" under Gmail. Then, select the necessary details. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect the newly received email in Gmail and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Gmail integration in Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.

Integrate the OpenAI automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt generation of a message response idea to add on the email body of a new email draft in Gmail whenever a new email is received in Gmail.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Prompt GPT-4o" automation for OpenAI to generate a message response idea. Select the variant and add the prompt. Then, select "Create draft" automation for Gmail and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Gmail account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Gmail account.

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the creation of a new email draft in Gmail. Once turned on, it will respond whenever a new email is received in Gmail by generating an email response idea in OpenAI ChatGPT to add in the email body of a new draft on Gmail without manual intervention.
