How to forward New Emails in Gmail

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Gmail, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “forward email” action in Gmail for each email received in Gmail using Relay.app.

1

Add the Gmail trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger, in this case when a new email is received that matches your criteria.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Email received" under Gmail. Then, select your criteria, like sender, message content, labels, etc. If this is your first time using a Gmail integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Gmail account.

2

Add the Gmail Forward email automation

Now you can set up the email forwarding action. Add a new step and select "Forward email" from the list of Gmail automations. Then, enter the email address that you want to use for forwarding.

3

Turn on the playbook

When you are done setting up the playbook, it's time to turn it on.

It will now run automatically whenever you receive an email in Gmail that matches your criteria. If you just received an email and it hasn't run yet, you can hit "Check now" to do a manual check any time.
