How to send Slack messages whenever a Google spreadsheet is added to a designated folder
Set the Google Sheets trigger as “Spreadsheet added to folder”
Add the Google Sheets trigger to initiate your playbook's actions before adding a Spreadsheet to a folder.
To do this, access your playbook and click the "Add trigger" button. Then, select "Spreadsheet added to folder" under Google Sheets. Next, choose a "Parent Folder" where you want to store your Spreadsheets, for example, "My Drive". This will enable your playbook to initiate necessary actions automatically.
If you haven't connected your Google Sheets account with Relay yet, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.
Add the “Send message” step in Slack
Integrate the Slack automation into your playbook to ensure that you receive timely updates about new Spreadsheets added to a folder.
Select "Add Step" and then find the "Send message" automation for Slack. Enter all the required details, including the sender's name, the Slack channel for updates, and the detailed message body.
If you still need to connect your Slack account to Relay, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Ensure that you allow the necessary permissions for Relay to send messages through your Slack account.
Activate your playbook
Activating your playbook is the final step. Once turned on, it will respond to send messages in Slack whenever Google Sheets rows are added to a folder without manual intervention.
To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together.
