How to automatically create new SmartSuite records from emails received in Gmail
Create your playbook and set the Gmail trigger as "Email received"
After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.
To setup this playbook, click "Add trigger" and then select "Email received" under Gmail. Then, select also trigger for incoming replies. If this is your first time using a Gmail integration in Relay.app, you'll be prompted to connect your Gmail account.
Now, every time an email is received in Gmail, your playbook will run automatically.
Add the "Create record" in SmartSuite automation
Integrate the SmartSuite automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of a new record in SmartSuite when a new email has been received in Gmail.
Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Create record" automation for SmartSuite and input the mandatory and relevant details.
If your SmartSuite account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your SmartSuite account.
Activate your Relay.app playbook
Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the creation of a new record in SmartSuite. Once turned on, it will respond to each newly received email in Gmail by creating a new record in SmartSuite without manual intervention.
To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
