How to add a new row in Google Sheets for each new database page added in Notion

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Notion, Google Sheets, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “add row to sheet” action in Google Sheets for each page added in Notion using Relay.app.

1

Create your playbook and set the Notion trigger as "New database page added"

After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

To setup this playbook, click "Add trigger" and then select "New database page added" under Notion. Then, select the database. If this is your first time using a Notion integration in Relay.app, you'll be prompted to connect your Notion account.

Now, every time a database page is added in Notion, your playbook will run automatically.

2

Add the "Add row to sheet" in Google Sheets automation

Integrate the Google Sheets automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt addition of a new row in Google Sheets when a new database has been added in Notion.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Add row to sheet" automation for Google Sheets and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Google Sheets account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Google Sheets account.

3

Activate your Relay.app playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the addition of a new row in Google Sheets. Once turned on, it will respond to each newly added database page in Notion by adding a new row in Google Sheets without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
