How to automatically create a new task in Asana when a specific label is added in Gmail
Add the Gmail "Label added" trigger
Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.
Click "Add trigger" and select "Label added" under Gmail. Then, select the mandatory and relevant details. This trigger will automatically detect the added label in the email on Gmail to create a new task in Asana.
If this is your first time using a Gmail integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Gmail account.
Add the Asana "Create task" automation
Integrate the Asana automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of new tasks in Asana for every label added in Gmail. Add a new step and select "Create task" from the list of Asana automations.
Connect Asana to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the mandatory and relevant details. You can reference fields from Gmail to automatically pass along the right data.
Turn on the playbook
Activating your playbook is the final step to automate creating a new task in Asana for every new labelled email sent in Gmail. Once turned on, it will respond to newly labelled emails sent in Gmail by creating tasks in Asana without manual intervention.
To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are sent correctly.
